Meet the Designer
I have been skillfully dying, spinning and weaving since 1995. I learned the art of felt making with the renowned felt artist, Tracey White in New Zealand, and continued to study under the watchful eye and tutelage of Polly and Myfanwy Stirling, and Sharon Kilfyole. An innate ability to draw upon nature's beauty allows me to blend rich colors with inspired design elements in creating each and every garment or piece of art!
I have had the opportunity to collaborate with other textile artists, and have participated and taught in various venues - Artistry in Fashion at Canada College, Santa Cruz Handweavers Guild, Peninsula Wearable Arts Guild, The Tin Thimble , Eugene Textile Center, San Francisco State University, Cabrillo College and the Surface Design Association. I have taught felt making locally and in and around the greater San Francisco Bay Area.
The stunning piece of wall art at the right was created in collaboration with Thom Atkins, Santa Cruz artist and embellished with hundreds of beads. The piece won a First Place Award from the Santa Cruz Art League's 4th Annual Textile Show in 2008. We were inspired by the beautiful intricacies of the ocean's corals and unique sea life.
